Who we are

The Muslim experience in the United States is not monolithic, but when cast against a dominant discourse that often antagonizes and marginalizes Muslims of all backgrounds, the “Muslim experience” takes a familiar shape. We work to challenge Islamophobia and anti-Muslim racism by advocating for equitable and accurate curriculum that ensures that the histories, intersectional identities, and experiences of Muslim students and community members are respected and represented.

About us

The Muslim Educators Alliance is a network of Muslim educators from across the New York City metropolitan area.

Mission

Our mission is to confront and expose anti-Muslim discrimination in our social, political, and educational institutions through education, advocacy, and collective action. We will create learning environments rooted in dignity, justice, and belonging for all.
